Ciruelo Cabral's Visual Art

Ciruelo Cabral, better known as Ciruelo (or ‘plum tree’), was born July 20, 1963. His fantasy art focuses mainly on dragons.

Ciruelo Cabral was a native of Buenos Aires in Argentina. He was born color blind. Cabral enrolled at Instituto Fernando Fader, an arts school, at the age of 13. This was where he began his formal education. At 18 he began working as an illustrator for a graphic advertising firm and soon after, he started doing comic covers. He moved to Barcelona, Spain in 1987 to work as an illustrator for a graphic advertising company. Later, he began drawing inside drawings and covers for fantasy books. His drawings have been published in four books: The Book of the Dragon (1990), Ciruelo(1990), Luz, the Art of Ciruelo(1997), Magia, the Ciruelo sketchbook (2000).
